How to Track Your CoronaVirus Stimulus Check

The first set of stimulus checks are already on its way and those that elected to get direct deposit, may have already seen the money hit their bank accounts. But how do you know if you are getting a check or direct deposit? It all depends on how you are setup with the IRS to receive your tax refunds.

If you have your tax refund come through by check, then you will most likely be waiting up to a couple more weeks for it to arrive. However, you can track the status of where your payment is.

Here are the 3 Steps to Track It:

  1. Head over to the IRS Tracking Page and click on the blue “Get My Payment” button.
  2. Once you get to the next page about authorized use, tap or click OK.
  3. You will then have to enter you social security number or tax ID number, DOB, address, then click on “Continue”

There on the next page you will see the IRS tracking portal that will show whether or not it’s been processed, scheduled, or mailed.

If you have a different address from when you filed your 2018 or 2019, the IRS will use the most current address that is on file with the USPS. So as long as you updated your address there, you should be good to go.

If there is “No Status” from the IRS portal, you can also check on how to get your Stimulus Check here.
